Our values

Our values flow from our beliefs. We have thought about these for quite a while, and summerised them under five headings.

[as a handy reminder there are 'three ...ships', 'one ..tree' and an '...ism']

Our purpose in worship

is to glorify God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, because He is supremely and uniquely worthy to receive our expressed love. As worshippers encompassing all ages we will seek to draw near to God in varied and diverse ways; through adoration, praise and thanksgiving, in times of quiet prayer, reflection and listening, in unity, integrity and without fear. Strengthening our relationship with God and each other.

Our purpose in fellowship

is to demonstrate the fruit of the Holy Spirit amongst us by displaying love towards one another, accepting one another, allowing each other to have preferences but not prejudices. Having joy, passion and humility, bringing the church together. To encourage one another through prayer, care and concern, help and support rejoicing with those who rejoice & mourning with those who mourn. Fulfilling one another's needs through visiting and showing hospitality, by the giving of our time, our money and of ourselves.

Our purpose in discipleship

is to teach us to follow Jesus in a life of obedience to God. To learn from one another and be open to positive correction and have a desire to grow towards maturity. To value teaching as it encourages us to submit to the authority of God's Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Our purpose in ministry

is to use all the spiritual and practical gifts the Holy Spirit gives for the building up of the Church. To serve one another and the community under Christ's Lordship as gifts reveal various ministries.

Our purpose in evangelism

is to go to all the world as Jesus commanded; even to our friends and neighbours. To have a desire within us to share the good news of Jesus with those who are lost and in darkness. To be relevant, to be salt and light, emphasising words with deeds and deeds with words.
