LASER is for young people who wish to meet together in a group which will seek to find out more about the Christian faith. We aim to present the basics of Christian faith and to provide a happy social atmosphere for young people to develop in.

All year 7 children are eligable to join Laser.

Friday nights [alternate weeks]

Times: 7.45pm to 9.30pm

There are three types of Friday Laser meeting:

Laser Nights: There will be hot food available from 7:45 - 8:10 (Pizzas, burgers etc). Followed by Christian teaching and then free time or organised games. A tuck shop will be open. Cost of the evening £1-50.
Theme Nights: Organised games and activities on a particular theme. There will not be a meal but a tuck shop will be open. There will be some Christian teaching. Cost 50p.
Special Nights: Trips to events or places such as ten-pin bowling, concerts etc.

Sunday morning:

A discussion group meets as part of the Sunday Morning Service, which starts at 10.30am. The group then meets separately and runs usually from 11am to 12noon. Light refreshments are served

The Rulez

We expect to have an acceptable standard of behaviour. For example: attention to be paid during the talk and well-mannered contributions during discussion times.

We will not allow entry to the evening meetings after 8.0pm.

No smoking or consumption of alcohol is allowed during Laser activities and a young person deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed into that meeting.

If we feel behaviour has become unacceptable, parents will be informed with a view to exclude that young person for a period of time.

St Bartz house party report - March 2006

The Laser Youth Group stayed at St Bartz [pics below] near Lewes 3rd -5th March for a weekend of fun, food, late nights, games, mysteries, stories and worship. Approximately 25 young people with leaders were closeted together for 46 hours - they survived!
